Recipe for Homemade Granola

Ingredients (Serves 4)
Time: Under 20 Minutes

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil or coconut oil

  • 2 cups rolled oats

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds

  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place baking parchment paper or aluminum foil on a large baking sheet.

Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Toast oats in oil, stirring constantly, about 5 minutes. Pour oats onto prepared baking sheet to cool.

Using the same frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the honey, brown sugar, and salt. Stir constantly until its bubbly. Use the parchment paper to pick up the oats on the baking sheet and return them to the frying pan. Add the almonds, cranberries, and cinnamon to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and spread granola onto the prepared baking sheet.

Turn OFF oven and place granola inside to dry out for 5 minutes. Remove from oven. Allow to cool then store in an airtight container.
