Easy Apple Crisp Recipe with Oatmeal

Easy Apple Crisp Recipe with Oatmeal
Ingredients (Serves 8)
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter, melted
4 cups apples - peeled, cored, and chopped
1/4 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease an 8 x 8 baking dish.
In a large bowl, add the brown sugar, oats, flour and butter. Mix until it has a consistency of bread crumbs.
In a gallon size plastic bag, place the apples, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Seal the bag and shake it until the apples are well coated.
Place half of the crumb mixture in the baking dish. Then evenly spread the coated apples over the crumb mixture.
Top it off with remaining crumb mixture.
Bake 40 - 45 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly. If you freeze this dish for later, then bake frozen at 375 degrees F for 45 - 60 minutes.
Substitutions and Additions
To add color and a complimentary sour flavor to this apple crisp recipe with oatmeal, add 3/4 cups fresh, whole cranberries (they are usually packaged and in the refrigerated section
of the produce aisle at the grocery store.)
For extra crunch, add 3/4 cups chopped walnuts.

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup quick cooking Quaker Oats
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon, divided
7 tart apples - peeled, cored, and chopped (Granny Smith or Macintosh)
3/4 cups fresh, whole cranberries (usually packaged and in the refrigerated section of the produce aisle at the grocery store)
1/4 cup white sugar
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup butter, cut into pieces
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine the butter, flour, 1/2 cup white sugar, brown sugar, oats, and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Mix until crumbly.
In a gallon size bag, place the apples, cranberries, 1/4 cup sugar, and nutmeg. Seal bag and shake it until the apples
and cranberries are well coated.

4 1/2 cups apples peeled, cored and chopped
1/4 cup honey, warmed so very runny
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
1/8 teaspoon all spice (optional)
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup rolled Quaker Oats
6 tablespoons butter, softened
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a 9 x 9 inch baking dish.
Evenly spread the apples into the baking dish. Drizzle the honey over the apples and sprinkle with the cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
In a medium bowl, add the brown sugar, flour, oats, and butter. Mix until crumbly. Top apples with the crumb mixture.
Bake 25 - 30 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly.
